Elton John Posed with Eminem in Photo Taken Backstage at 2020 Oscars

Eminem took to social media to share a picture of himself and Elton John as they posed for the camera with their arms around each other.

While the festivities were occurring at the recently concluded Oscars, rapper Eminem, and singer, Elton John got a chance to spend time with each other backstage.

According to People, Eminem took to Twitter to share a picture of himself and Elton, in a post that he captioned:

“I got to see my Uncle Elton tonight at the Oscars. Congrats on your win too, Sir!”

In the picture, the rapper and the singer had their arms around each other as Elton added a smile to his pose.

Elton's smile might have had something to do with the fact that he had taken home the nod for Best Original Song alongside his longtime writing associate, Bernie Taupin.

As for Eminem, he had surprised the crowd at the Oscars when he appeared on stage to perform his 2002 hit single, "Lose Yourself."

While many enjoyed his act, CNN reported that others took to Twitter to express their confusion at his presence on stage.

The mixed reactions caused Eminem to also take to Twitter to explain that he had to take the opportunity the Academy had offered him.

As regards his relationship with Elton, Refinery 29 divulged that Eminem had turned to the singer during the release of his album “Encore” in 2004 and his subsequent struggle with drug addiction.

The 47-year-old, who revealed that he looked up to Elton because the latter had also gone through a similar fate during his time in the music industry, said:

“He's somebody who's in the business and can identify and relate to the lifestyle and how hectic things can be...”

Although many observers are yet to grasp the bond between the duo, Eminem and Elton continue to wax strong as they have gone as far as claiming that they love each other, in public.
