Although the singer's role as Texas Ranger Waylon Gates wasn't terrible, fans had mixed reactions to it.

"...a third fan had hopes that Lyle would return to the show as he had "wonderful chemistry" with Danny – played by Donnie Wahlberg."

According to Country Living, more than a handful of the show's viewers took to social media to give their two cents.

A Twitter user wanted to know if there hadn't been any other guest star that was willing to play that role.

At the same time, another stated that it would have been better to have Chuck Norris as the original Walker, Texas Ranger.

Meanwhile, a third fan had hopes that Lyle would return to the show as he had "wonderful chemistry" with Danny – played by Donnie Wahlberg.

Similarly, a fourth person shared that she wanted Lyle back on the show because it was way "too good to be a one-time thing."

It would be recalled that Waylon had been forced to team up with Donnie's Danny character and Marissa Ramirez's Maria Baez character after the "Lone Star Killer" escaped in New York City.

However, from the time a dangerous shoot-out with the criminal brought Waylon and Danny together, it was apparent to viewers that the pair weren't going to get along.

Despite the rough start, the duo made a good team as they finally managed to catch the fugitive.

While fans were sharing their thoughts about Lyle's appearance in "Blue Bloods," AXS reminded them that this would be the "Cowboy Man" crooner's first time on-screen.

As it turned out, the 62-year-old had previously appeared in ABC's "Castle," played a lawyer on FX's "The Bridge," and also showed off his funny side in "Angels Sing." Additionally, Lyle isn't the only one with more than one trick under his sleeves, according to Pop Culture.

The site revealed that Marisa Ramirez's first career was as a model that went on to tour the world before she returned to California to be an actress.

The 42-year-old had appeared in numerous music videos before she co-hosted MTV's Senseless Acts of Video.

However, it wasn't until she played the role of Gia Campbell on "General Hospital" that she became a well-known actress.
