It’s always sunny in Kandi Burruss’ world with her baby daughter, Blaze in the picture. The little girl is giving her mother many reasons to smile.

SUNSHINE ON A CLOUDY DAY
A few days back, Kandi doted on Blaze by taking photos of her dressed in bright yellow. The tiny tot smiled in one of three pictures her mother shared. She looked especially cute wearing a yellow turban to match her yellow top.
The three-month-old also gave us a glimpse of her other expressions. In a separate photo, she’s serious and wide-eyed, looking straight at the camera. She also stretches out her arms in a third photo, smiling, as if wanting to be carried.
Blaze looked cozy neatly tucked in a blanket while strapped to her seat. The cold didn’t bother her that way. She certainly warmed up Kandi’s world that day. Kandi writes,
“My sunshine on a cloudy day!”
THE JOY OF SURROGACY
Blaze was born via surrogate in November. Kandi wanted to carry a child herself but complications of pregnancy to her health made her decide on surrogacy.
Kandi was grateful to her surrogate, Shadina Blunt. After Blaze was born, she especially thanked her in a post. Though she was advised to keep a distance from her surrogate, Kandi is proud of the friendship she developed with Shadina.
“Everybody’s relationship with their surrogate is different but in my case I definitely feel like I gained a new friend,” she had written in a video post describing the teamwork that came into play during Blaze's delivery.
CELEBS WHO WELCOMED CHILDREN VIA SURROGATE
Many celebrities have been embracing surrogacy as an option for having a child. Mother-of-four Kim Kardashian’s last two children were born via surrogate.
Kim suffered from placenta accreta during her first two pregnancies. This condition is characterized by the placenta attaching itself too deeply into the uterine wall making it difficult for doctors to pry it out during delivery.
Meanwhile, Gabrielle Union suffered multiple miscarriages before finally welcoming her daughter Kaavia James via surrogate.
Tyra Banks, after a year of failed IVF attempts, finally welcomed her first child, a son, in 2016. York was born via surrogacy and delivered to the arms of his then 42-year-old model mom.
