"#Goodmorning! Just a friendly reminder that [Motherland: Fort Salem] premieres on March 18th on [Free Form! #DemetriaMcKinney plays Drill Sergeant Anacostia Quartermaine."

The new twist of having witches enlist in the army provides an exciting take on the usual witchcraft story. With Demetria McKinney as a part of the exciting cast, many fans are anticipating the new show, with over 11 thousand followers on Instagram already.

When McKinney isn't hard at work, she's a doting mother to her son Cairo, whom she gave birth to when she was only 17 years old. Now, her son is all grown up, and she continues to be a proud mom for all the joy that her son has brought into her life.

The former "House of Payne" actress has always been quite private about her personal life, only sharing about her son on handful occasions. Through it all, McKinney has experienced a whole lot through the years, but that didn't stop her from rising to become the best person she can be. In fact, she once opened up about her past, saying:

“I am a product of molestation; I have been homeless; I am a single mom. I have been beaten up by my significant other. I had my share of life experiences, but I’m a living testimony that your past is your past.”

Now, Demetria is an empowered woman who inspires other women to overcome the trials that they face, partnering up with organizations that cater to abused women and children.
