Page Six: Chris Rock & Girlfriend Megalyn Echikunwoke Reportedly Split after 4 Years of Dating

Chris Rock's past divorce is reportedly the reason for his rumored split with actress Megalyn Echikunwoke who he has been dating for four years.

Chris Rock and his girlfriend, Megalyn Echikunwoke have quietly ended their four-year relationship. This is according to a report by Page Six.

According to the publication, multiple sources have already confirmed the split which happened a few months back. The reason was Rock’s hesitation to settle down following his divorce with Malaak Compton-Rock.

Chris was reportedly burnt by the divorce which was finalized in 2016. He once joked, “Would I ever get married again? Not if it would cure AIDS.” He also spoke of how the two-year process took a toll on him having to pay for a lawyer to divorce him.

In September 2016, Megalyn gushed about Chris, telling People, “He’s funny. He’s really wonderful. He’s a very dreamy guy, and I’m a lucky girl.” However, she denied they were engaged.

Chris likewise didn’t appreciate having to go to court to fight for the custody of their two daughters, Lola, 17, and Zarah, 15. He once joked about how difficult it was to be a black man in family court.

Chris’s 18-year marriage to Malaak came to an end in 2014 after several instances of infidelity in the actor’s part. He admitted to cheating on Malaak with three different women and to an addiction to pornography.

Meanwhile, Chris found new love with Megalyn in 2016. He was very happy then bragging about the fact that the “CSI: Miami” actress was financially independent. “She’s got her own dough, she’s amazing,” he told Rolling Stone.

Megalyn eventually moved in with Chris and the two appeared to be cozy in their relationship while forging ahead with their respective careers. The 36-year-old who began acting when she was 15 appeared in television shows including and starred in "Step Sisters" and "Night School" in 2018.

In September 2016, Megalyn gushed about Chris, telling People, “He’s funny. He’s really wonderful. He’s a very dreamy guy, and I’m a lucky girl.” However, she denied they were engaged.

She even told the publication that she wasn't a "huge believer in marriage." She added, "I have a boyfriend who I love and that’s all I need.”

But that doesn't seem to be the case now if recent reports are true. It's unclear for now who broke up with who. What appears certain is they are no longer together for reasons we have yet to learn more about.
