Meet Yvette Prieto, Michael Jordan's Wife & Mother of His Twin Girls Who He Met at a Night Club

Basketball legend Michael Jordan met his second wife, Yvette Prieto, during a night out at a club. The couple married in 2013 and have twin daughters together.

Michael Jordan is one of the NBA's most recognized faces, yet he maintains a very guarded life with his wife, Yvette Prieto.

Little is known about his wife, who has no social media channels. The couple maintains a strictly private life. Here are some details about the model.

It is reported, Prieto was born in Cuba in 1979, her parents are Carlos and Maria Prieto. She spent most of her time in Miami, where she grew up.

She turned to modeling at an early age after turning down a career working for her father's company. She modeled for designers such as Alexander Wang.

Jordan met Prieto in 2008 after he had divorced his first wife, Juanita Vanoy, in 2006. Reportedly the two felt instant chemistry when they met at a nightclub.

Their relationship moved quickly; by 2010, they were living together and engaged the following year. The couple was married in 2013 in a lavish wedding.

It is reported, Jordan and Prieto's wedding cost $10 million. They were married at the famous Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea in Palm Beach, Florida. 

For her nuptials, Prieto wore a French silk J'Aton Couture mermaid style dress that was detailed with lace and embellished with Swarovski crystals.

In 2014 they welcomed twin daughters Ysabel and Victoria. At the time, Jordan was 50-years old, and Prieto was 35-years-old. A representative for the couple sent a statement to US Weekly about their daughter's birth saying:

"Yvette Jordan and the babies are doing well and the family is overjoyed at their arrival."

During his emotional speech for Kobe Bryant's celebration of life, Jordan made a rare public reference about Prieto, saying:

"I told my wife I wasn't gonna [cry] because I didn't want to see that [meme] for the next three or four years."

Jordan has an estimated net worth of $1.65 billion is recognized as the former star player for the Chicago Bulls, owner of the Charlotte Hornets and creator of Nike's brand, Jordan.

Before meeting him, Prieto was already accustomed to dating a celebrity. Reportedly, she dated Enrique Iglesias' older brother, Julio Iglesias Jr in the early 2000s.
