John Prine's wife is keeping fans updated about the singer's battle against COVID-19. In her latest Twitter thread, she gave details about his current state.
At 73 years old, John Prine would be considered a high-risk victim of the novel coronavirus that's spreading throughout the country. Still, the singer-songwriter is hanging in there.
On Thursday, John's wife, Fiona Prine, took to Twitter to give a health update on her husband's situation. "This is John's 8th day in ICU," she began the thread.

John is still fighting
Fiona, who has been married to John since 1996, reminded fans that her husband was put on a ventilator last Saturday to aid with breathing due to pneumonia.
Unfortunately, John's since developed peripheral issues as well. He is taking medication and antibiotics in his fight. He's also getting lots of prayers and well-wishes from fans.
She called it a nightmare
Fiona encouraged the public to continue sending love to John, and people confirmed in the comments that they would do just that. She further thanked the health personnel for caring for him.
Fiona noted the fact that she "cannot be with him makes this nightmare all the more distressing." The gorgeous brunette was diagnosed with COVID-19 recently and has since recovered.
Fiona regularly updates fans
Before Thursday, Fiona shared an update on John asking for positivity and prayers. She also had a message for her followers, which was to stay at their homes and wash their hands.
At the time, Fiona said her husband was "stable." However, in another tweet, she clarified that stable didn't mean her husband was improving. She reminded people that there was not yet a cure for the virus.
Celebrities pay tributes
Earlier this week, artists like Joan Baez, Jeff Tweedy, and Mac McAnally all made tributes to their fellow musician by performing one of his songs and sharing it to social media.
Meanwhile, Roger Waters shared a heartfelt video message wishing the singer his best. He called Prine a friend who is full of love and expressed hopes of a recovery.
John was originally hospitalized last Thursday, at which time his family described his condition as being "critical." We hope that the beloved singer recovers very soon.
