Toya Wright Honors Late Brother Ryan on His Heavenly Birthday With Video of Daughter Reign Singing

Toya Wright honored her late brother on his birthday in an emotional tribute and shared a video of her daughter Reign Rushing singing while playing on a piano.

Toya Wright shared a heartfelt tribute for her late brother, Ryan "Rudy" Johnson, in honor of his birthday. In an emotional message, she said:

"It's true that your physical existence is no longer here in the world but I can feel your presence each and every moment."

The reality star posted a video of her daughter, Reign Rushing, singing happy birthday while playing on a piano. She also shared rarely seen family photos of her brother. In her caption, she added:

"Here"s a little birthday song from @reign_beaux . I wish you could’ve met her.? We love you Rudy."

In her tribute, Toya also promised never to forget him and said she would always keep "Rudy's" memory in her heart.

Pouring out her emotions on what must have been a somber day for her family, she admitted to missing her brother a lot and wished him a "happy heavenly birthday."

On July 31, 2016, Rudy, along with his brother Joshua "Fish" Johnson, was found dead in their car in New Orleans.

According to PEOPLE, the time of their deaths, Toya was in Louisiana, hosting an event in Baton Rouge. She recalled getting the phone call from her sister-law, telling her that they had been shot.

Toya said that during the phone call, she knew immediately that her

and remembered it being the worst day she ever experienced.

She told the magazine that having been accustomed to hearing about murders in New Orleans, their deaths were still a shock to her. She explained, "you hear about stories like this all the time, but it doesn't really hit you until you get that call. It hits so close to home."

According to Essence, Antoine "Tweezy" Edwards, the man behind the murders of "Rudy" and "Fish," was sentenced to life in prison in October 2019.

Eyewitnesses at the scene identified him as the shooter after he got into an argument with the two brothers. Another witness came forward saying he bragged about the murders.
