Kotb hopes wedding happens as planned

The "Today Show" host revealed that the date has been scheduled and booking taken care of. For now, she said she is "hopeful" that things can go through as planned.

However, the journalist noted that she's not entirely sure what will be the results of the current crisis, which calls for everyone to stay home in self-quarantine and avoid large gatherings.

She knows what's most important

She stated: "I'm hopeful that we can keep our fall wedding date. But we're open." She added, "I was just saying to Joel, 'I don't care where we get married. Honey, I don't care.' "

Kotb admitted that while she would love to have a destination wedding, she'd be just as happy just to get it done. The pandemic has reminded her that what's most important is to spend time with family and friends.

The two women also answered fan questions about working together. One of the questions was if they were comfortable working together from the start. Kotb explained that they were because of past interactions.

Back in February, Kotb spoke to People about her upcoming wedding to her partner of six years. At the time, the tv personality imagined warm weather and palm trees.

She said she wanted at least "one beautiful moment," and the rest of it will be drunk dancing. Kotb hopes to have her wedding in the fall, she told Ellen DeGeneres in January.

Missing her mom amid COVID-19

Speaking to E! News, Kotb also revealed that her mom has been making a lot of decisions regarding the wedding, including what dress she'll wear. Recently, Kotb opened up about how much she's missing her mother.

While Kotb is quarantining with her immediate family, including her fiancé, her mom has been living alone in quarantine. In a segment of the "Today Show," Kotb got emotional about the situation.

Kotb knows that her mother is more vulnerable due to her age, so the two are staying apart. She took solace in her mom's positive thinking. We hope the two can reunite very soon.
