Prince Charles Wishes Prince Louis Happy 2nd Birthday With a Heartwarming Photo

Prince Charles showed touching sentimentality with an adorable birthday tribute to his grandson Prince Louis as he celebrates his second birthday today.

The 71-year-old Prince of Wales took to social media on Thursday with an endearing tribute to young Prince Louis in celebration of his birthday, posted from their official Clarence House account.

In the black and white picture presumably taken by mom Kate, Prince Charles lovingly held Prince Louis in his arms with the tot's arms wrapped around his neck. Prince Charles's expression of utter contentment makes it a truly one-of-a-kind moment captured perfectly.

"A very Happy Birthday to Prince Louis, who turns two today. The young Prince enjoys a hug from his Grandfather, The Prince of Wales.? The Duchess of Cambridge," the grandfather of four captioned the image.

However, followers of the prince who watched his video link opening of the Nightingale Hospital last week already saw the picture.

The touching image found a place among his most cherished family snaps on the piano of the Birkhall estate, where he and Camilla currently spend their time in self-isolation amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.

KATE AND WILLIAM TEASED AHEAD OF HIS BIRTHDAY

Prince Charles's tribute to his grandson came after Kate and Prince William teased with the "handiwork" Prince Louis had kept himself busy on Wednesday.

In the new images shared by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Louis grinned in his new blue shirt while his brightly-colored hands told the story of fun had with arts and crafts.

When Thursday finally came to pass, the proud parents posted an additional four pictures, which featured a rainbow-colored hand portrait and a happy tot in various poses.

Following congratulatory messages from followers, Kate and Prince William shared their appreciation for the support in the caption.

"Thank you for all your lovely messages on Prince Louis’ second birthday!" the royal couple wrote. "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share new photographs of Prince Louis, taken by The Duchess this April."

Prince Louis, who is fifth in line to the throne, happens to celebrate his birthday on St George's Day, and mom Kate regularly releases new pictures to mark her children's birthdays. An avid amateur photographer, Kate is also patron of the Royal Photographic Society.

With the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic, Prince William and Kate had to put their original plans of a birthday bash for Prince Louis aside.

Instead, the royal couple planned a fun day with close family members, and if weather permits, Prince William will prepare delicious burgers and chicken on the BBQ while making the most of the ample space at them Anmer Hall estate with games and sports.
