Drake opens up about his decision to finally share photos of his rarely-seen son Adonis, saying it's been great for him.

On Lil Wayne's podcast "Young Money Radio," Drake opened up about his recent decision to share pictures of his son Adonis on social media. The proud dad woke up one day and realized he wanted to show his son off to the rest of the world, and that's exactly what he did.

"It was great for me. It was great to just share that with the world. I just woke up one morning and I was like, 'You know what? This is just something that I want to do.'"

PROUD TO BE A FATHER

Before he posted pictures of Adonis, he would only share things that could be attributed to him, such as his artwork, his gifts, and even birthday party decorations. However, at the end of March, he decided it was time to finally show his face.

The "Hotline Bling" rapper made sure to credit Lil Wayne for being a great role model for him of being a functioning rap father.

MAKING THE MOST OUT OF THEIR TIME

Drake shares Adonis with artist Sophie Brussaux, and while the pair didn't end up together, he's proud to be a father and would like to experience many happy memories with him. In fact, he opened up to Lil Wayne about wanting to bring his son up in a normal environment.

"I want to be able to go places with my son and share memories with my son. I don't want to feel like just because of a life choice I made to be a 'celebrity' that I got to make everybody live under this blanket."

The "Hotline Bling" rapper made sure to credit Lil Wayne for being a great role model for him of being a functioning rap father, and many other artists who have paved the way to being "great family men."

Drake's first post with Adonis featured a lengthy caption that gave him sound advice and included a reflection about how to be present in reality. As he would put it, "what is most important for you right now is to connect to your own inner light."
