Nick Cordero's Wife Reportedly Says He Is Still Unresponsive but Opens His Eyes
Nick Cordero's wife, Amanda Kloots, gives updates about his health while he remains unresponsive in a coma. Amanda says the actor opens his eyes sometimes.
Amanda Kloots, the wife of Canadian actor Nick Cordero, took to Instagram to celebrate her husband's small victory while he remained in a medically-induced coma. In the video Amanda shared, she said:
"He's doing good. He's in recovery today, and things are going well. Numbers on machines are coming down, which is great."

Amanda added that although the small act of opening his eyes was a milestone, the doctors still needed him to wake up and start responding to commands.
She said that his eyes were unresponsive and "not connected" to anything when opened. All they had to do was hope and pray that they would see some more progress.
Amanda also shared a sweet selfie of herself in what appeared to be an oversized jacket. She revealed that she was wearing Nick's clothes, and those were, most times, the items she was bundled in.

Cordero's coma and severe illness were due to COVID-19. He was first admitted to the hospital when he began experiencing difficulties in breathing and was diagnosed with pneumonia.
Sara Bareilles and some of Cordero's former co-stars released a cover of one of his songs.
Kloots and their son, Elvis, dropped him off at the emergency unit and went off for a walk after Amanda asked Nick to call her when he was done with the doctor so she could pick him up. In a CBS This Morning interview, she said:
"We drove to the emergency room, and we dropped him off, and this is one of the saddest parts, we thought I would see him in two hours."
Unfortunately, Cordero called his wife to inform her that he had been admitted and was given oxygen. He had also been tested for COVID-19 and was waiting for the result of the test.
Shortly after his positive diagnosis came, he became unconscious and was placed in a medically-induced coma and fixed up to a ventilator and ECMO machine that would assist his heart and lungs to work.
While sedated, Nick was discovered to have severely perforated and infected lungs. He underwent surgery immediately. Sadly, the infection caused him to go into septic shock, yet another crisis.
Fans and sympathizers of the actor from all across the world have offered words of condolences to the distressed family. Sara Bareilles and some of Cordero's former co-stars released a cover of one of his songs from their 2016 musical to help raise money for his medical bills.
Despite the unimaginable curveballs thrown at her and her family, Amanda has done an amazing job of standing by Nick's side and fighting his illness with him.
