Michael Jordan's Daughter Jasmine Says Growing up as NBA Legend's Daughter Was Normal
Michael Jordan's daughter Jasmine reveals what it was like growing up as a daughter of one of the greatest basketball players of all time.
Everybody knows who Michael Jordan is. Since leaving the NBA, he's decided to keep a more private life, as he was always bombarded by crowds and the media during his time in the league.
For Jasmine Jordan, she was given front-row seats to watch the whole thing happen. The 27-year-old had to share her dad with the world, but now, she has a lot more time to spend with him.
A NORMAL CHILDHOOD
According to Jasmine, she grew up in a normal household. While her dad is an icon, he and her mom made sure that Jasmine and her brothers grew up in a normal environment.
"He would take us to school, pick us up from activities and help us with homework. Little things like that where it felt normal. The normalcy only went away when we would go the games..."
A RESPONSIBLE FATHER
Although she acknowledged that her dad's time in the NBA hindered them from seeing him a lot, Michael was man enough to explain the situation to her. When he was around, he would make sure to give his 100% attention and they would eat dinner together before their home games.
One gamechanger for Jasmine, however, is her fiance Rakeem Christmas. She put all her guards down and pursued him, following both her heart and her gut.

KEEPING CIRCLES SMALL
Through the years, however, Michael continues to be a great part of Jasmine's life, and that's something they've been cherishing and strengthening especially now that he's retired. As for her circle, she's chosen to keep it small to try and avoid any mishaps especially with those who only want to get close to her because of her father.
"I guess you can say, sense of paranoia and fear of being taken advantage of, makes the true friendships and relationships we’ve been able to experience worth it even more."
JASMINE'S OWN FAMILY
One gamechanger for Jasmine, however, is her fiance Rakeem Christmas. She put all her guards down and pursued him, following both her heart and her gut. Now, they share a son named Rakeem Michael together, and their little boy just turned one.
Amid quarantine, Rakeem Michael turned a year old, and the doting mom made sure to give him a special celebration. In a shoe cabinet filled with different pairs of sneakers, she hung a "Happy Birthday" sign and a silver "one" balloon to make their house a little more festive.
She also shared a lengthy post on Instagram, featuring an illustration of her son inside a Jordan sneaker. The Jordan legacy definitely runs through their blood, and it's something they're proud of.
