While many fans expressed how happy they were to see some of their favorite shows getting ready to return to their screens, some replies mourned the halt of some other favorites like "Scorpion" and "Hawaii Five-0."

... main characters in the Reagan family would take some blows in the coming season

Selleck plays the role of Police Commissioner, Frank Reagan, who is the head of a family full of cops. While the news of the series' renewal was great for fans, they would not be returning until the cast and crew can work on set safely.

The actor stopped for a bit to chat with People about what the future holds for the show and where he saw it going. He revealed:

"I don't think there is an endpoint. I think there is a lot of life in the show, as long as you let your characters grow and get older."

Speaking more about the series and the status that it had gained, Selleck said that there had been an evolution from the time that "Blue Bloods" began. It started as a character-driven series, but it had become so much more over the years.

The actors had played their parts so well and communicated the characters excellently to the fans, so much so, that the audience was "really inside the main character's head." The season ten finale has been the most dramatic yet with the introduction of an unexpected new member of the family.

He also admitted that he had developed a special kinship for his onscreen family Bridget Moynahan, Donnie Wahlberg, and Will Estes. The seventy-five-year-old added that he was grateful for the camaraderie on the set — not many shows were as fun.

Just before quarantine began, the actor gave some time to sit down for a quick chat with InsiderTV to share what fans could expect in the coming season. He said that the cop family would take some blows in the coming season, and four Reagans might die.

When he is not wowing an audience as Frank Reagan, Tom Selleck might be found enjoying quality family time with his wife, Jillie, on his Ventura, California Ranch.
