"When Calls the Heart
" fans have been gunning for another season to officially be announced since season seven's start. Yet it wasn't until the finale that they finallygot an answer
HALLMARK THE ONLY ONE TO DECIDE
With the current coronavirus pandemic, it came as no surprise that even the cast was concerned about filming for any future episodes. Brian Bird, the show's creator, further noted that things weren't up to him.
In a straight-shooting tweet, Bird responded to a fan saying that the decision to have another season wasn't up to him, it was up to the Hallmark Network.
ERIN KRAKOW GIVES THE GOOD NEWS
Well, right after season seven's finale, Erin Krakow, who plays Elizabeth Thornton on the series, appeared in a short YouTube video that revealed the good news.
"From my heart and home to yours, I'm thrilled to announce the all-new season 8 of "When Calls the Heart" coming next year," she said, looking gorgeous in a yellow dress while sitting on a gray couch.
ELIZABETH CAUGHT BETWEEN TWO MEN
The delayed renewal can be attributed to the outbreak crisis, which has caused other show's seasons to end prematurely, and made countless premiere dates an unsure matter.
What a relief for fans wanting to learn what's next for the brunette beauty when it comes to her love triangle involving two handsome men. Will she choose Nathan or Lucas?
FANS TRY TO FIGURE OUT WHO SHE'LL CHOOSE
In the last episode, Elizabeth was worried about Nathan, who was out on war duty and faced gunpoint alongside his partner. Elizabeth didn't know at first who had died between them.
The hug she gave him in the episode convinced some viewers the two were meant to be. Others were on Team Lucas, the saloon owner who was more willing to bare his feelings for Elizabeth.
Also, they'll learn the outcome of Lee's unexpected health issue, and what happens with Faith after she up and left Hope Valley. There's a lot to wrap up next season.
LORI LOUGHLIN LONG GONE FROM SERIES
Elsewhere, the absence of actress Lori Loughlin, who played town mayor Abigail Stanton, has sunk in and nearly been forgotten by viewers. Loughlin is wrapping up court matters for a college admission scandal.
Her and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, were allegedly involved in bribery with the University of Southern California to get their daughters into the institution.
The situation caused fans to have doubts about the show's return last season. However, Krakow confirmed that the season was on earlier this year.
The previous season opened up with Elizabeth facing the death of Jack Thornton as a result of an avalanche. The top-rated drama series has a lot of twists and turns, but it always comes down to love.
