After Lori Loughlin's sudden exit, "When Calls the Heart" has had a rough beginning to its 6th season. However, the hit television drama series will be back for season 7, and it's very soon.

Actress Erin Krakow, who stars as Elizabeth Thatcher Thornton in the Hallmark series, first uncovered the big news in a video message a year ago.

And just recently, the official Instagram account of "When Calls the Heart" has announced that the seventh season will premiere on Sunday, February 23, at 8 p.m. EST.

The top-rated show will open the upcoming season with an episode titled "A Moving Picture," as reported by Country Living.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Erin said that they have improvements with Team Infirmary and what will happen there between Faith (Andrea Brooks) and Carson (Paul Greene). The actress added:

"We have a wedding happening in Hope Valley between Clara and Jesse, lots of fun stuff with the babies, of course."

Erin continued that fans will get to see a bit more of where Elizabeth, Nathan (Kevin McGarry), and Lucas (Chris McNally) stand.

In the premiere episode, Elizabeth's love life is front and center. She is married to the love of her life, Jack Thornton (Daniel Lissing), who was killed in an avalanche.

In October 2013, the series initially debuted as a two-hour television movie pilot.

Meanwhile, showrunner Alfonso H. Moreno told Entertainment Weekly that there's a lot of other drama to come. He said:

"Finally, our characters have to deal with more than just emotional slings and arrows, as some of them end up in harm's way."

It's safe to guess that "When Calls the Heart" isn't going anywhere anytime soon because the show keeps on being one of the top-rated cable drama series.

In October 2013, the series initially debuted as a two-hour television movie pilot, starring Maggie Grace as young teacher Elizabeth and Stephen Amell as Police officer Wynn Delaney.

The 6th season of the show was put on a "retooling" hiatus because of the 2019 college admissions bribery scandal involving Loughlin and her subsequent expulsion from all Hallmark properties.

The season was then continued in May and ended in June, with Loughlin's scenes edited out. As reported by Deseret News, it's not clear if her character will ever return.
