Chris Rock and Ex-wife Malaak Reunite to Celebrate Daughter Zahra's 16th Birthday (Photos)

Chris Rock and his ex-wife Malaak came together with their family to celebrate their daughter's 16th birthday. The proud mother shared a heartfelt tribute.

Celebrity kids have had to scale back their usually lavish birthday celebrations amid the COVID-19 outbreak for more intimate family-orientated affairs.

For her 16th birthday, Chris Rock's daughter, Zahra, had to settle for the now common drive-by birthday celebration from all her friends and family, who came out for her special day.

During her purple-themed party, she was dressed in rouged shoulder mini-dress as she blew out the candle on a buttercream cake.

Zahra also shared a rare family moment with her parents together, along with her siblings, as they all embraced for a photo. Her final picture showed the teenager looking emotional during a surprise drive-by from all her friends as they held up purple balloons.

Malaak admitted, "while we had to celebrate in ways that we could not have imagined a few months ago, she has been nothing but kind, considerate and compassionate."

She expressed how proud she was to be Zahra's mother, and was grateful for the years she has spent watching her daughter grow into whom she called, "an amazing young woman."

The proud mother also thanked her Zahra's friend and family for the drive-by party. In a little confessional, she revealed that the moment brought her daughter to tears.

Chris and Malaak have two daughters together, Lola and Zahra. Malaak adopted their youngest daughter, Ntombi, from South Africa.

According to Madame Noire, despite Chris and Malaak's divorce in 2016, he shares a close bond with his daughters. He revealed that people are surprised to find out that he lives around the corner from his family.

It is reported, in the years following his divorce, Chris opened about his infidelity and how difficult it was splitting from his wife.
