Indian Actor Chiranjeevi Sarja Dies at 39 –inside Death of the Star Whose Wife Is 3 Months Pregnant

The Indian entertainment industry and all who knew the movie star Chiranjeevi Sarja is in shock and mourning after he suddenly died at the age of 39.

Karnataka, India's chief minister, B.S. Yediyurappa, confirmed the news of Chiranjeevi Sarja's passing from a heart attack on social media, in a message roughly translated in English to:

"Prematurely dying at the age of just 39 is shocking. I pray that God may grant them goodwill, their family, and the strength to endure grief."

HE WAS A POPULAR INDIAN ACTOR

The 39-year-old made his debut in film with an appearance in the 2009 film "Vayaputra," and he went on to star in productions such as the 2013 movie "Whistle," and "Amma I Love You" in 2018, to name but a few of the over twenty films Sarja starred in until his death.

Sarja released three films this year, and he came from a family of actors. His grandfather Shakti Prasad became well-known in the industry, as did his uncle Arjun. He is survived by his wife and fellow actress Meghna Raj.

HIS LONGTIME LOVE

Raj and Sarja reportedly dating for a long time before they married in 2018. When the couple celebrated their wedding anniversary in April, Raj still sent him the sweetest tribute on social media as she wrote:

"Sometimes i wonder why? Why is this man so perfect...so perfect for me? And den de answer dawns, the imperfect jigsaw’s perfect fit! ❤️"

HE WILL NEVER MEET HIS CHILD

Sadly, following news of Sarja's sudden passing, other news also came out earlier than the couple intended. Meghna Raj is three months pregnant with her and Sarja's first child.

According to the Times of India, the couple already shared the news with family and close friends, but they planned on telling the public about the new addition to their family soon.

A FUNERAL ALREADY TOOK PLACE

for Chiranjeevi Sarja already took place at this brother's farmhouse in Bengaluru, where friends, family members, and several fellow movie stars from the Sandalwood film industry, including Puneeth Rajkumar, Shivakumar, and Kiccha Sudeep paid their final respects to the late 30-year-old.

However, Sarja's death is the latest in a string of celebrity deaths this year. At the young age of 34, Chris Trousdale died from an undisclosed illness earlier in June.

OTHER CELEBRITIES THAT PASSED THIS YEAR

June 2 also saw the passing of longtime beloved actress Mary Pat Gleason after a battle with cancer at the age of 70. Comedic actor Fred Willard died from natural causes in May, and the YouTube star Corey La Barrie's death in a car accident on May 10 came as just as much of a shock.

Relatedly, the death of WWE star Shad Gaspard, also at the age of 39, touched the hearts of many. The WWE star drowned after he and his son got caught in a riptide along with a few other people.

The family had gone to a newly re-opened beach for the day, and rescuers took Shad's son to safety first at his request, but a wave crashed over him soon after - it became the last time anyone saw him alive.
