METHOD MAN LIKES TO KEEP HIS LIFE PRIVATE

Their debut album, "Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)," changed the hip-hop world. Even though it was released in 1992, it helped restore the pride that New York City rap had that was being taken away by West Coast rappers like Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre.

Apart from that, they influenced other notable rappers, including Nas, Biggie Smalls, and Jay Z.

Unlike many other rappers and celebrities, Method Man has preferred to keep most of the details of his private life away from the spotlight, and that includes his wife, Tamika Smith.

In fact, he has vented his anger more than once whenever he feels that his or his family's privacy is being disturbed.

HE WAS INVOLVED IN A FIGHT WITH WENDY WILLIAMS

One of the most unforgettable times that happened was in 2006 when he publicly insulted talk show host Wendy Williams for revealing that Tamika had been dealing with breast cancer.

The rapper pointed out that Wendy was not supposed to talk about such a delicate topic not only because it was personal, but also for the impact that her revelation had.

After remarking that Tamika Smith's cancer, her life, and her relationship with him was nobody's business, Method Man said that she didn't want anybody to know about her illness.

He added that not even Tamika's family members knew about her cancer until Wendy spilled the beans, emphasizing the fact that people started staring at her differently after they found out what she was going through.

TAMIKA SMITH IS A CANCER SURVIVOR

After Method Man confronted Wendy, she claimed that her information took a negative toll on his and Tamika's romance, alleging that he was in an extra-marital relationship with Tamika's doctor.

Again, Tamika Smith's husband defended himself, denying Wendy's claims and saying that she had gone too far. He even admitted to being ready to take revenge, but fortunately, his friends from Wu-Tang talked him out of it. Nowadays, the rapper's wife is cancer-free.

In 2016, Tamika Smith and Method Man made headlines again after celebrity entrepreneur Farrah Gray shared an article on his website with a photo of Tamika.

Since the rapper has never ceased to be protective of his wife, he took to Twitter to ask Farrah to delete his article. When he didn't, Method Man wrote that followers and likes were more important than being decent and tasteful.

Eventually, Method Man deleted his tweets and also quit Twitter. In his final message on the social media platform, he admitted to having lost his faith in human decency.

Apart from those highly-publicized episodes, nothing much is known about Tamika Smith. In her LinkedIn profile (which doesn't have a profile picture), she described herself as a wife, mother of three children, and small-business owner.

TAMIKA USED TO BE METHOD MAN'S PERSONAL ASSISTANT

She also wrote that she was studying Entrepreneurship at the College of Staten Island and was pursuing an Associate Degree in Business Management and Administration.

Finally, Tamika revealed that she liked to study real-estate, watch football, and be with her family in her free time.

Another interesting aspect found on her LinkedIn page is that she worked as Method Man's personal assistant between 1997 and 2002.

In 2001, the couple tied the knot after being engaged for two years. Together, they have three children: Sha, born in 1996; Raekwon, born in 1997; and Cheyenne, also born in 1997. Tamika Smith and Method Man's 20th anniversary is around the corner!
