The setup of their North Carolina home is extremely relaxing, and it's difficult not to admire the vast yard that they have. Aside from fresh green grass, it also features a stream of water that gives them the perfect blend of nature.

On top of this, their beautiful property is situated perfectly for them to see a glimpse of the sunset every single day. William often shows off pictures during that time of day to see its beauty in entirety.

LIFE BEFORE WILLIAM

Before getting married to William, Knight was married thrice. She first married James "Jimmy" Newman in 1960 when she was only 16 years old. Together, they share two children.

A decade later, she was married to Barry Hankerson for five years and together share one child. By 1995, she was married a third time to motivational speaker Les Brown.

GLADYS AND WILLIAM'S RELATIONSHIP

In 2001, Gladys married William McDowell. They've been together for almost two decades now, and their love remains strong. Together, they share 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

At 74, Gladys continues to work hard and McDowell is her greatest supporter through it all. He would often accompany her to the recording studio and to her various guestings, showing his all-out love and support.
