Joanna Gaines Discusses Raising Her Five Children Colorblind in New Video
"Fixer Upper" stars, Chip and Joanna Gaines, and their five kids feature on "Uncomfortable Conversations With A Black man" amid Black Lives Matter protests.
Chip and Joanna Gaines are hoping to raise well-rounded kids who treat people around them nicely regardless of their race. They have taken a step further to achieve this by talking to Emmanuel Acho during an episode of "Uncomfortable Conversations With A Black man."
The Black Lives Matter movement has opened their eyes to many things they were oblivious to, and this has raised some questions. The first of these questions was directed at the Gaines' kids.

Chip asked their kids whether they would be more scared of a black man or a white man, and they said neither. Joanna was relieved and proud that her kids were color blind.
Her perspective was changed when she asked the host, Emmanuel Acho, whether he thought being color blind was the way to go. Acho explained that it was not the best way to go. He said:
"I think there's strength, there's a beauty in seeing color. I don't like the concept of color blindness."
The couple's ten-year-old daughter, Emmie, also had a question for the host. She asked him if he was afraid of white people.
First, Acho told her that her question was phenomenal; then, he answered it by saying he was not afraid but cautious. The last question came from their 15-year-old son, Drake, who asked Acho if he had hope for the future.
Acho told Drake that he has hope for the future because of people like Joanna and Chip. He also said that if people listened to one another, then there is a lot of hope for the future.
Drake and Emmie are two out of the couple's five children. The other three are Ella Rose, Duke, and the youngest, Crew, who was welcomed to the world in June 2018. Joanna announced his birth via an Instagram post. In the post caption, she wrote:
"Our baby boy, Crew Gaines, is here, and we couldn't be more in love. He made an unexpected (and speedy) entrance into the world…"
Joanna and Chip Gaines became parents for the fifth time in 2018, but they got married in 2003. The duo celebrated their 17th anniversary in May. Chip took to social media to share a throwback photo from their wedding and also showered his wife in praises.
Their journey together started in 2001 when Chip met Joanna while she was still working in her dad's auto shop.
The two are still full of love for each other after all these years, and their secret is always prioritizing their relationship.
