TOYA WRIGHT AND LIL WAYNE'S RELATIONSHIP

Before all of them, though, Lil Wayne was in a relationship with Antonia "Toya" Wright. In fact, as of June 2020, Toya has been the only wife in the rapper's life.

The former couple met each other when they were about 13 years old at a corner store in New Orleans, Louisiana. Shortly after that, they started dating, and things got pretty serious quickly.

By the time Toya was 14 years old, she was already pregnant with her and Lil Wayne's first daughter. On November 29, 1998, when Toya was 15 and Lil Wayne was 16, Reginae Carter was born.

According to Toya Wright, she and Lil Wayne always had plans to tie the knot at a young age. She revealed that the first time he proposed was on her second Mother's Day (she was months away from turning 17).

However, they only decided to get married when she was 20 years old. Apart from the fact that they were underaged, Toya and Lil Wayne had been dating on-and-off, and he was romantically involved with R&B singer-songwriter Nivea. Toya explained:

“When he started dating Nivea, I didn’t know anything about it. Then I found out, and he admitted it to me that he was dating her, and that’s when the marriage came apart.”

TOYA WRIGHT AND LIL WAYNE'S WEDDING AND DIVORCE

Toya pointed out that it was crazy how they went from planning their wedding to fighting over an affair.

Eventually, the rapper and the R&B singer parted ways. Six months later, on Valentine's Day 2004, Lil Wayne officially became Toya Wright's husband.

Sadly for the former couple, their relationship came to an end less than two years after they exchanged wedding vows. Toya once admitted that although they were married, he never stopped seeing other women.

On January 1, 2006, Toya filed for divorce, claiming that she was unable to cope with Lil Wayne's lifestyle. She pointed out that he probably was not ready to tie the knot and that he was lying when he claimed that he had changed.

THEY ARE STILL GOOD, SUPPORTING FRIENDS

While Toya Wright's baby daddy cheated on her, they have remained supportive of each other, mainly because she sees him as a member of her family.

She even revealed that when her brothers, Josh and Rudy Johnson, were killed in New Orleans in July 2016, Lil Wayne "came immediately" to support her.

In September that year, Toya went to "The Real" where Tamera Mowry told her Lil Wayne posted her (Toya's) photo on Instagram and wondered if it was possible to see them back together. Toya replied:

“You never know what the future holds, but right now, I just feel like it’s a no. He has a lot of growing up to do. He is still kind of like the hot boy Lil Wayne.”

TOYA WRIGHT AND LIL WAYNE'S RESPECTIVE PARTNERS

Finally, the TV personality pointed out that she would support the rapper forever because, despite the things they have gone through, they were friends first. At the moment, Lil Wayne is dating plus-size model Denise Bidot.

Toya, on the other hand, was married to Mickey "Memphitz" Wright between 2011 and 2015. Nowadays, she is dating Robert "Red" Rushing. On February 8, 2018, the couple welcomed their first daughter together, Reign.
