Sean Douglas Is Michael Keaton's Handsome Son and a Gifted Musician — What We Know about Him

Michael Keaton, the experienced actor best known for the critically-acclaimed film "Birdman," has a handsome and talented son named Sean Douglas.

Born in September 1951, Michael has been involved in the entertainment industry for over four decades. During that time, he has been nominated to an Oscar and won a Golden Globe, two Film Independent Spirit Awards, and many more accolades.

Between 1982 and 1990, the "Batman" actor was married to late actress Caroline McWilliams, who passed away on February 11, 2010, due to multiple myeloma, also known as cancer of plasma cells.

On May 27, 1983, their only child, Sean Douglas, was born. Even though two incredibly gifted actors raised Sean, he chose not to follow in their footsteps.

Instead, he has been making a name for himself in the music industry, and his work has already been acknowledged!

So far, Sean Douglas has written hit songs for different artists, including Jason Derulo's "Talk Dirty," Fifth Harmony's "Sledgehammer," Madonna's "Ghosttown," and Demi Lovato's "Heart Attack."

Back in 2015, when Michael Keaton received his Golden Globe for his outstanding performance in "Birdman," he talked about his son and even described him as his "best friend." Fighting back the tears, the actor said:

"My best friend is kind, intelligent, funny, talented, considerate, thoughtful… Did I say kind? He also happens to be my son, Sean."

According to Hollywood Reporter, Sean's career began when he was in high school and at Washington University, where he used to play and write songs for different bands.

He revealed that even at that point, he would come up with ideas for different genres, like country and rock. Eventually, he signed a deal with Warner/Chappell in 2012, and his career skyrocketed from that point on.

Michael Keaton's son also admitted that his parents never pressured him into becoming an actor, probably because they knew how hard it was. However, he chose the "one industry less stable than theirs" as his career.

While the songs that he wrote for Madonna, Jason Derulo, and Demi Lovato have been successful, Thomas Rhett's "Die a Happy Man" is arguably Sean's best piece of work ever.

It not only won Academy of Country Music Awards for Song of the Year and Single of the Year but also was nominated to a Grammy for Best Country Song in 2017.

As per his love life, he is a married man! Rachel Bartov, who used to work at a top talent agency in Los Angeles called Creative Artists Agency, has been Sean Douglas' wife since August 30, 2014.

In April 2017, Rachel gave birth to River, her and Sean's first and only son (so far). There are little-to-no details of their relationship online as they try to keep it as private as possible.

However, we know that Sean is the romantic type of husband as he even wrote and sang a song for Rachel during their wedding ceremony.

Apart from that, on Rachel's birthday in 2019, he uploaded a photo to his Instagram account with a loving caption in which he revealed that Rachel was his favorite person. He added:

"Thanks for sharing a third of your life with me. I look forward to that ratio growing, and all the child-rearing, wine-drinking, and hotel room switching that comes with it."

Earlier this year, Sean revealed that Rachel was part-owner of Tummy Thyme, a Los Angeles-based baby and toddler food company.

Sean Douglas showed support to his wife's new business venture by posting about it on his Instagram account. In it, his and Rachel's second child, Maggie, was the center of attention.
