Savannah Guthrie Is Back at the 'Today' Show Studio Following Criticism about Her Unkempt Hair
Savannah Guthrie recently returned to the “Today” studio for the first time since April shortly after she was shamed for her unkempt hair and fans couldn’t be more pleased.
"Today" host Savannah Guthrie seemed like she never set foot out of the NBC midtown headquarters when she returned on June 29 for the first time since April.

People reported that during the show, which she anchored alongside Willie Geist, Savannah made a joke about “dusting off her work clothes.” The other co-hosts, Al Roker and Hoda Kotb were absent for the day.
The 48-year-old [Savannah Guthrie] was experiencing some difficulties from the eye surgery she underwent in December 2019 after her son, Charles Max Feldman, accidentally threw a toy truck at her face.
During the show, Guthrie discussed the rising number COVID-19 cases in the United States with health experts. It would be recalled that the 48-year-old has spent most of the last two months working remotely amidst the novel coronavirus pandemic.
Although she started working from home in March through a temporary studio in her home’s basement, she returned to the studio for a brief time at the end of the month.
However, in early April, she decided to continue working from home, leaving her co-anchor, Hoda Kotb, to run the show from NBC’s studios. Savannah’s return to the studio comes shortly after she had a social media run-in with a critic.
According to US Magazine, the run-in occurred after a Twitter user referred to the “Today” host’s hair as “unkempt” and “distracting.” It didn’t take long before the mother of two replied, “We are all doing our own hair and makeup during the pandemic. And yes it shows!”
While she anchored from home, Savannah was seen experimenting with her hair and she even colored it at some point. Back in April, Today revealed that the anchor had a FaceTime call with her hair colorist, Rita Hazan, to ask for direction as she began the process.
Asides doing her own hair and makeup, the “Today” anchor has also had to deal with a pending eye problem. ET Online disclosed that the 48-year-old was experiencing some difficulties from the eye surgery she underwent in December 2019 after her son, Charles Max Feldman, accidentally threw a toy truck at her face.
Even though she admitted that the surgery did what it was supposed to do, she had some complications that now required her to get cataract surgery. Savannah additionally experienced some technical difficulties back in May as she was captured putting her hand down her shirt during a live show.
People noted that she laughed off the incident by explaining that her mic dropped from her collar into her shirt just before the cameras started rolling.
The unforgettable moment occurred while she was on a split-screen with her co-anchors, Craig Melvin and Hoda.
