Many people's hope of a fruitful year have been dashed by the highly contagious novel coronavirus, which has forced many countries across the globe, including the United States, into several months of lockdown.

The lockdown has affected the global economy with many operations scaling down or shutting down their services, which has led to widespread job losses.

It is a crucial time in America and talk show host Sharon Osbourne was very critical of rapper Kanye West after he recently celebrated his wife for becoming a billionaire.

While speaking on "The Talk," Osbourne described Kanye West as "tone deaf" and further laid into the rapper's insensitive post, given many people have been crippled financially during this period. She said:

Osbourne also revealed that she has never been in favor of bragging about one's wealth and "cringes" whenever she sees people doing that.

In April, Forbes listed West, 43, as a billionaire, although the fashion mogul argued that he was worth more. A month later, the media outlet revealed that Kim Kardashian was worth an estimated $900 million.

West's tweet has split the online community, with many people deeming his announcement a mere publicity stunt.

Beauty giants Coty recently bought a 20 percent stake of the reality TV star's KKW business for a reported $200 million, which meant the company's net worth was now $1 billion.

Following the transaction, the "Power" crooner took to his official Twitter account to pay tribute to his beautiful wife. He wrote:

"I am so proud of my beautiful wife Kim Kardashian West for officially becoming a billionaire…"

Kardashian and West got married back in 2014 and share four children, daughters North, 7, and Chicago, 2, and sons Saint, 4, and Psalm, 1.

On July, 4 West took to his Twitter account to announce that he would be joining the 2020 presidential race.
