Olivia Newton-John Pays Tribute to Co-star John Travolta's Wife Kelly Preston Following Her Death

On Sunday, July 12, 2020, John Travolta lost his wife Kelly Preston after a long battle with breast cancer. His co-star and friend, Olivia Newton-John, has since reached out to share a tribute to his late wife.

Travolta, 66, sadly lost his wife, Preston, 57, after her two-decade battle with breast cancer. He and Newton-John, 71, were co-stars on the famous film “Grease,” and she’s since taken to social media to honor his wife.

In her Instagram post, Newton-John described the late star as “a radiant, warm and gentle spirit - a loving, devoted wife, mother and sweet friend.” She went on to share how heartbroken she was for Travolta and their children, Benjamin, 9, and Ella, 20.

The couple also had a son, Jett, who sadly died in the year 2009, aged 16. The actress continued noting how she had “no words” to “express my sorrow for her family.”

She concluded her post by saying that the late actress and model’s “light” would shine “on in her beautiful children.” Newton-John also included a throwback photo of her with Preston when they were younger.

TRAVOLTA CONFIRMS WIFE’S DEATH

The late star had been married to Travolta for nearly 30 years. He confirmed her death on Monday in a social media post.

Alongside an image of his wife on Instagram, the actor revealed how his late wife had “fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many." The famous and longterm couple chose to fight against the diagnosis privately.

KELLY FOUGHT PRIVATELY AGAINST CANCER

A representative for the family stated: "Choosing to keep her fight private, she had been undergoing medical treatment for some time.” Preston was supported on her journey by her closest family and friends.

SHE WAS A BEAUTIFUL SOUL

The representative went on to describe the late star as "a bright, beautiful and loving soul.” The spokesperson revealed how Preston had “cared deeply about others” and “brought life to everything she touched.”

WHEN DID THEY GET ENGAGED

As expected, her family asked for privacy as they continue mourning her death. Travolta proposed to his wife in 1991 on New Year's Eve in Gstaad, Switzerland, at the Palace Hotel restaurant.

The pair were married on September 5, 1991, when Preston was already two months pregnant with Jett. They went on to tie the knot again in Daytona Beach, Florida, at a later stage.
