See Miranda Lambert and Husband Brendan's Adorable Kitten Which They Rescued near a Highway

Miranda Lambert is the proud owner of a new kitten, and she showed off her furry friend in a recent post. The tiny creature is a playful little thing she's come to love.

Miranda Lambert, 36, gave fans a small update on her family's newest addition on Monday. Last month, she and husband Brendan McLoughlin rescued an abandoned kitten from a busy highway.

Lambert, who is a sucker for strays, was not the one who noticed the poor thing. Apparently, she's rubbed off on McLoughlin, who did the U-turn to pick up the animal.

TEQUILA HAS LOTS OF ENERGY IN THE MORNING

The couple named their white and orange fur ball Tequila. In the clip, we see Lambert say good morning to the adorable animal who is lying in a brown bed.

Tequila reaches for her new owner then enjoys a large stretch. We see the animal show off its playful side in the next slide as it bites at Lambert's fingers. The singer laughs but says "Ow," revealing mild pain.

"Tequila Sunrise. Cute [to] vicious," she wrote in the caption. Lambert reportedly has over 20 furry friends in her home. Little Tequila stands out from the rest with her striking blue eyes.

LAMBERT'S FATHER FOUND A NEW BEST FRIEND

Lambert estimated that the kitten was four to five weeks when she discovered her and weighed 14 ounces. Tequila also has a patient demeanor, spending nine hours on a road trip with her owners early on.

Lambert and McLoughlin went on a road trip with a brand new RV during the quarantine. Soon after picking up Tequila, the pair made a stop at Lambert's parents' home in Texas.

Her father, Rick, took such a liking to the adorable kitten that Lambert called Tequila her dad's "bestie." Lambert and her father are quite close, with the older man holding some credit for his daughter's talents.

RICK SHOWS OFF TALENT ALONGSIDE LAMBERT

In 2017, the father-daughter duo shared the stage during a concert to raise funds for the Women Creators Scholarship Fund, which was begun by Lambert. Her then-boyfriend Anderson East also joined in.

Rick skillfully showed off his singing chops, making it clear that he had passed on the genes that led to Lambert's remarkable success. The trio sang "Woke Up This Morning (With My Mind Stayed on Freedom)."

Lambert's new man is a New York Police Department Officer. The pair had a whirlwind romance as they dated for only three months before tying the knot secretly in January 2019.

LAMBERT AND MCLOUGHLIN'S LOVE STORY

McLoughlin came into Lambert's life while doing security for one of her shows in November 2018. He made Lambert into a stepmom as he is dad to a one-year-old son whom he shares with his ex-girlfriend, Kaihla Rettinger.

Lambert and McLoughlin made their red carpet debut last April at the Academy of Country Music Awards. In February 2020, McLoughlin retired from his law enforcement career to do full-time security for his wife.

In July, the pair showed their Fourth of July celebrations. It involved lounging in a pool in what appeared to be a trailer park. Lambert sat on a pink flamingo floatie holding one of her dogs.

The singer wore a blue bath suit, red headband, and a pair of sunglasses to protect her eyes. Next to her, McLoughlin stood in a pair of blue swim trunks and a cap.
