Page Six: Tory Lanez Reportedly Shot Rap Star Megan Thee Stallion on the Night He Was Arrested

A source has revealed to Page Six the details surrounding the circumstances which led to Megan Thee Stallion's foot injury and Tory Lanez's arrest.

On Sunday night, musician Tory Lanez was arrested when police officers stopped his SUV after leaving a party in Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles.

The officers responded to gunshots being fired in the vehicle that was transporting Tory, Meghan Thee Stallion, and her best friend, Kelsey Nicole. According to TMZ, an argument had occurred between Tory and the two women, which prompted them to exit the vehicle.

Tory was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and Megan was immediately transported to the hospital for a foot injury. Her injury was initially thought to be caused by broken glass.

In a statement posted on Instagram, Megan revealed that she had suffered a gunshot wound. She said police officers took her to the hospital where she had to undergo surgery to remove the bullets. "I'm incredibly grateful to be alive and that I'm expected to make a full recovery," she added.

Although Megan had set the record straight on the part of what occurred that evening, LAPD sources told TMZ that witnesses who were on the scene are refusing to cooperate with officers.

It is reported that officers have been notified about a video of the shooting which could help build a case against Tory. He posted $35,000 bail and is expected to appear in court on October 13, 2020.

A source spoke exclusively to Page Six to confirm Tory's involvement leading up to Megan's gunshot wound, it was

"Tory fired the shots from within the vehicle while Megan was outside trying to leave. This is a case of a man physically harming and abusing a woman."

The LAPD told Page Six that they had to "protect the integrity of the case," and could not confirm if Tory was a suspect or details about the video until the case was addressed in court.

Megan's best friend also broke her silence on Instagram to confirm that the rapper had been shot on Sunday morning. Kelsey shut down rumors that an argument had occurred between her and Megan which led to the shooting.

In her personal statement, Megan said she is focused on a full recovery as she plans to resume her normal life and dedicate herself to her music.

The incident occurred following a pool party during which Megan and Tory appeared on Instagram live video with Kylie Jenner.
