Check Out Alex Trebek's New Summer Look as He Gives an Update on 'Jeopardy!'
"Jeopardy!" host Alex Trebek is full of surprises, as he sported a new look during an announcement that the show will air certain throwback episodes of the beloved game show.
Fans of "Jeopardy!" now see Alex Trebek like they hadn't seen him since the middle of 2018 when he looked handsome with his short-lived beard and moustache. It's not often that the beloved game show host grows out his facial hair, as he reminded in the latest clip to the show's fans.

THE ANNOUNCEMENT
With an important announcement to make, Trebek, who turns 80 next week, smiled coyly as she explained that his new appearance comes courtesy of a break in the show's taping schedule due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.
However, the longtime host assured viewers that they would be back to the studio "very, very soon," but he had another surprise in store and added:
"We are going to open the Jeopardy! vaults and take another look at our favourite episodes, including the first Jeopardy show I hosted."
WHEN THE 'VAULT' WILL OPEN
With special episodes of "Jeopardy!" to look forwards to in July, Trebek added that he felt excited about the filming of a new season of the show set to start in September. In the meantime, the beloved game show host has a milestone birthday to look forward to.
HIS 80TH BIRTHDAY IS NEXT WEEK
According to a source that spoke with Closer Weekly, Trebek will celebrate his 80th birthday "small," and he will get to spend time with his close friends and family via Zoom video calls.
Trebek and his wife Jean share a daughter Emily, and a son Matthew, and they are both grown, as is his first daughter from his first marriage to Elaine Kares, named Nicky, who is already 54-years-old.
As a father, Trebek admitted that he didn't always do the right thing, but in later years he became determined to set things right with them and "make amends," which led to their "acceptance" and "unconditional love."
HELPING OTHERS IN NEED
However, even though Alex Trebek has a lot going on in his life, having received a stage IV pancreatic cancer diagnosis a year ago, he still works towards making life better for others.
Just last month, the game show host donated $500,000 to the Hope of the Valley Mission, so they can build a much-needed shelter for homeless seniors in Hollywood.
