Kim Kardashian West has come out in defense of her husband Kanye West after a flurry of tweets the singer posted announcing his intentions to divorce her and maligning his mother-in-law, Kris Jenner.

KIM KARDASHIAN WEST SPEAKS OUT
In the aftermath of a series of since-deleted tweets in which West announced that he intended to divorce his wife for cheating on him with Meek Mill and labeled his mother-in-law as "Kris Jong-Un." West also accused his wife of trying to "lock me up."
Kardashian-West broke her silence on her husband's mental health issues for the first time, appealing to fans for understanding. She wrote:
"I kindly ask that the media and public give us the compassion and empathy that is needed so that we can get through this. Thank you for those who have expressed concern for Kanye’s well being and for your understanding.”
KANYE WEST'S BIPOLAR DISORDER
The singer was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2018, but admittedly does not take the necessary medication because he feels it bouts his creativity and changes "who he is." In her statement, the reality star spoke about the difficulties in dealing with a loved one's mental health issues and expressed her deep admiration for West.
Kardashian-West referred to the pressures placed on West as a public figure, and a black man, and hinted that the tragic death of his mother 13 years ago is also a contributing factor to his pain. It is this pain, Kardashian-West explains, which leads West to lash out, saying hurtful things he does not mean.

FALLING APART
The first hint that all was not well with West surfaced at his first rally for the 2020 Presidential Election in North Charleston. On July 19, West made a speech that became increasingly emotional and ended with the weeping singer admitting that he had wanted Kardashian-West to have an abortion when she discovered she was pregnant with their first child, now 7-year-old North West.
Kardashian-West has appealed to the media to respect West's difficulties and the privacy of their family. The couple share 3 more children apart from North: son Saint, 4, daughter Chicago, 2, and son Psalm, just 1 year old.
