In the promotional video, Barrymore "interviews" her seven-year-old self and intimates viewers that the show was going to spend an hour every day celebrating life.
Barrymore's video featured clips of her 1982 interview with Johnny Carson on "The Tonight Show" when she was 7. On how the video came together, Barrymore revealed that:
"Shooting this clip was so fun and a little emotional as my own 7 year old daughter Olive sat in as my 7 year old self. So, I am actually speaking to her too."
Barrymore expressed that as she prepared for her show by practicing on how to interview others, she grew nostalgic and had to look back on her seven-year-old self, who got interviewed by Johnny Carson.
She concluded the caption of her post by stating that the show was personal to her, and she was grateful and proud of the journey it took everyone to get to this point.
It was beyond her wildest dream to have the opportunity for a daily talk show.
After she shared the post, many were quick to jump on the comments section to congratulate and share their excitement with Barrymore. One of her closest friends and fellow actress, Cameron Diaz, said:
"STOP!!! OMG, THIS IS GONNA BE EVEN BETTER THAN I THOUGHT!!???."
Others also expressed that they were excited for the show to begin as they knew Barrymore had amazing content to deliver.
Barrymore first announced the show last October and told CNN that it was beyond her wildest dream to have the opportunity for a daily talk show. She intimated that she was thrilled to be creating the show.
The show, which is set to begin on September 14, has a digital rollout that includes a behind-the-scenes look at the making of a daytime show during an unprecedented time. It would also feature guests like Gayle King, Andy Cohen, Kenan Thompson, among others.
For Barrymore, who has been staying at home and homeschooling her kids, Olive and Frankie, during the lockdown, the show is a refreshing start for some things she is set to achieve.
