On Wednesday, People magazine shared an interview with pop megastar Katy Perry. The singer discussed fiancé Orlando Bloom, her upcoming album, and the fact that she's pregnant during a pandemic.

Perry also talked about the mental battle she fought after her 2017 album "Witness" failed to bring as much success as previous records. For some time, Perry suffered through depression as well.

PERRY TALKS LOWEST POINT AND POSITIVE NEWS

Support from her family and professional help helped her get through what she called her "darkest years." When she and Bloom got romantically involved, Perry was even happier.

These days, the singer is thrilled in anticipation of the birth of her daughter. Of course, she is now facing the challenges that come with a pandemic thanks to the novel coronavirus, COVID-19.

The drastic change in circumstances nationwide forced Perry and Bloom to postpone their wedding plans, but there's no way of delaying a pregnancy that's already begun.

HER REMARKS ABOUT A PANDEMIC PREGNANCY

Perry said, "Every day, your options change, and you don't know what's what. Especially being pregnant in a pandemic, it's an emotional rollercoaster."

The "Firework" singer has also had to push back the release date for her new album, "Smile." It's now set to come out on August 28. As for the baby, Perry is keeping her due date a secret.

Back in March, People alleged through a source that Perry and Bloom planned to get married in Japan earlier this summer. Amid the postponement, Perry released a video for her song, "Never Worn White."

Perry told the hosts that she calls her daughter Kicky Perry because of her movement in the womb. Now heavily pregnant, Perry also noted that Bloom sometimes has to help her stand.

"I am waddling like a duck," said the singer. She's also enduring common pregnancy symptoms like cravings, heavy breathing, and is sporting a newly positioned belly button.

PERRY WOULD HAVE HAD CHILD WITHOUT BLOOM, WHO'S ALREADY A DAD

While the child will be Perry's first, Bloom has a nine-year-old, Flynn, from his previous marriage to Miranda Kerr. Perry, who was also married before to actor Russell Brand, has previously spoken about having kids.

In 2014, Perry noted that she would become a mother whether or not she had a man in her life. By 2016, she described herself as being more family-focused thanks to being around her sister's children.

PERRY HELPED HER SISTER GO THROUGH HOME BIRTH

In July this year, she recalled helping her sister with a home birth as she spoke of having confidence for her own upcoming labor. She did admit to being nervous about the newborn's eventual arrival.

Perry has praised Bloom for being a supportive partner, but she's also appreciative of his experience as a father. The first-time mom is looking forward to her brand new family life in the near future.
