52-year-old comedian & actress, Mo’Nique seems not to be aging in spite of showing traces of silky grey hair in a recent black & white photo.
The golden age is feared mostly by many because it reminds them of becoming old with time. However, for comedian cum actress, Mo'Nique, this may not necessarily be the case as she feels otherwise.
Monique Angela Hicks or Mo’Nique, as she’s fondly known, is living her best life currently as she recently posted a photo of herself on her Instagram page. In the gorgeous monochrome image of the talented performer, there were traces of grey hair.
She accompanied the image with a text that showed her excitement at being in her 50’s saying that she had imagined she would feel “sooooo old” just like she thought of her mother when she was in her 50’s. She also claimed that she felt younger in her 50’s than she ever felt in her 20’s, 30’s, and 40’s.
In 2018 the judge in his decision held that Mo'Nique's allegations against Netflix were plausible and that the mother of four was entitled to fair pay for her comedy special.
The Oscar winner’s comment was a welcome idea. Many of her fans lauded her pride in her age and some were even encouraged to be more confident about their grey hair and displaying it more often instead of “coloring” it.
Apart from having good looks facially, she has also been able to maintain a good hourglass shape which is sure to be a confidence boost for someone her age.
According to Hollywood Life, in 2018 while speaking in an interview, Mo’Nique announced her impressive weight loss news. Her weight loss journey began in 2013 when she lost 82 pounds. This happened after the screen star had once weighed 300 pounds.
“The Parkers” actress reveals her fitness success is a result of her three mantras. In her words: “raw food,” “dancing your pants off,” and “giving yourself a chance to live the best life you can live.”
It was no surprise to find the second item as part of the list since the “Precious” actress takes dancing particularly seriously, judging by the torrents of dance videos on her social media platform, “Mo’nique Worldwide.”
In the scene of her career, the comedian is one of the moguls in the modern-day movie industry as she joined Hattie McDaniel in becoming the first African-American actresses to win an Oscar.
She discussed the highs and lows of her status switch to the Hollywood Reporter. She revealed that the Oscar gave her a new reality and that an award was not going to merely change her life if she didn’t take control of changing her life.
Along with her prominence, the Golden Globe Award winner has had to deal with many controversies including a lawsuit against Netflix’s discriminatory actions.
Apart from having a great individual personality and a successful career, the Queen of Comedy is also a family woman who is married to Sidney Hicks with four sons between them. For Monique Hicks, there can only be more exciting years ahead.
