Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly approached several networks with their idea of a television series centred around two topics frequenting recent headlines.

Royal couple Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are not only settling into their new Montecito home but reportedly also getting down to business with a new idea they pitched to television network executives.

Now the first details of Prince Harry and Meghan’s proposed series came to light. Its a passion project for the couple, but especially for Meghan, who faced discrimination as she grew up as a mixed-race American in Los Angeles.

THE SERIES

Meghan and Prince Harry want to serve as joint producers of a new television series set to focus on issues around racial equality and female empowerment.

According to an insider, the royal couple already pitched their idea to several network executives, and hope to bring about positive change through the issues addressed.

“They have suggested a series focusing on the empowerment of women and young girls in today’s world,” the source said. “It will home in on race issues, something Meghan has always been passionate about. It’s got quite a political stance and will also draw on feminism.”

WILL THEY STAR IN IT?

Even though the royal couple will feature in their proposed television series, they want to produce it to empower young people. The focus would be on the lives they are trying to change, and not them.

Through Meghan and Prince Harry’s film and television production company, they also hope to deliver productions that would be “worthy” of the changes they are trying to make. According to reports, NBC Universal was one of the first networks they approached with their new idea.

SETTLING INTO CALIFORNIA LIFE

In the meantime, Prince Harry and Meghan also purchased and moved into what they hope to be their forever home. In June, the royal couple bought a stunning $14,65 million home in Santa Barbara, California, with a lot of privacy and sprawling gardens to raise their son Archie.

As the couple make the property their own, Meghan reportedly started converting one of the guesthouses for her mom Doria Ragland. The former “Suits” star’s mother plan on splitting her time between Santa Barbara and Los Angeles.
