However, for Saweetie, using her family connections was not something that she was willing to do, choosing instead to try and do it by her self.

"I appreciated that they reached out and was like, ‘We see what you’re doing. Our friends keep talking about you.' So I appreciate the support, but for me, I’ve always been self-motivated. "
After the release of her music, news that she was cousins with Union came out. The pair regularly hangs out with Saweetie performing at the actress' birthday.
