According to sources close to the royal family, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did not inform the Queen about their Netflix deal, and she got to find out through her aides.

It was reported earlier this month that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle signed a mouth-watering deal with worldwide streaming platform Netflix.

And while the deal, which is worth about 75 million Euros, is a great one for the couple, they did not inform the Queen about the signed contract.

A source close to the royal family revealed that the Queen did not know about the deal and had to be informed about what was going on by her aides. The source also added that the Queen was aware of the pitfalls that occur when senior royals embark on these projects.

It was also intimated that the Queen's view was simple as she believed the Royals are not for sale, and dangers surrounds high profile roles outside of the Royal institution itself.

While the Queen might be aware of all these, the source added that the Queen knew her grandson Harry and there would have been little chance of talking himself and Meghan out of taking the deal.

This move allows for the couple to become more financially independent.

Although the couple did not inform the Queen, it is reported that the deal will be "examined" by the Palace over its commercial links. The deal is to be adequately scrutinized to ensure that all is in accordance with the Palace rules.

Similarly, Royal Commentor Duncan Larcombe said that the Queen is likely to be concerned about what the Netflix deal will look like, as this represents a significant move for Harry and Meghan.

The deal Harry and Meghan signed will feature them making documentaries, feature films, scripted shows, and children's programs.

This move allows the couple to become more financially independent while cutting off their ties with the Royal family. Before agreeing with Netflix, Harry and Meghan had been in touch with streaming services like Disney and Apple before choosing to settle with the Netflix offer.

Aside from this deal, they were also offered a million-pound deal by Spotify to produce exclusive podcasts for their platform.

Meghan and Harry plan to hire shadow producers to do the work via their yet to be named production company, but their names would be attached as the producers.

Although a survey done revealed that many Americans are happy about the deal and are looking forward to what the couple will produce, those in the United Kingdom are less excited.
