Navarro Head Coach Monica Aldama Shows Off Toned Abs As She Thanks DWTS For Physique
"Cheer" star shares physique progress on Instagram as "Dancing with the Stars (DWTS)" Season 29 premieres this Monday!
With only a few days until the celebrity cast puts their best foot forward, a star from Netflix's docuseries, "Cheer," took the liberty to show her technique progress thus far.
Set to waltz on your screens on September 14, "DWTS" announced the celebrity cast on the official Season 29 Twitter page. Monica Aldama is one of the celebrities that made the cut.

MONICA READY TO ROCK ON STAGE
Aldama has been in LA for a few weeks now, practicing her technique with her partner - who's yet to be named. As per show norm, Season 29 partners will be revealed during the show. She said:
"The abs are starting to make a come back. I’ve been practicing for a week and a half, I’ve never worked this hard physically in my life. I’ve learned so much in such little time."
She continued to say that her partner is amazing and is as tough as she is - considering her work on the field as a cheer coach. She is thankful to be part of the dancing show.
SHARING THE STAGE WITH THESE STARS
People revealed that Aldama will be competing among stars like "Tiger King" star Carole Baskin, "Selling Sunset's" Chrishell Stause, Jesse Metcalfe, "The Real" host Jeannie Mai, and Grammy Award-winning rapper Nelly. "Tiger King" star said she hopes the dance competition will show her in a different light.
"Many of her followers wished her well, suggesting the trophy be handed over to her already."
The celebrities went on to share their competitive nature with ABC's "Good Morning America (GMA)" hosts. Some of the celebrity cast members, like Carol Baskin, shared snippets of what fans can expect in the upcoming Season.
PUTTING HER BEST FOOT FORWARD
Moments after the celebrity cast was revealed, Aldama retweeted she can't wait to GMA's promo tweet announcing her participation.
Many of her followers wished her well, suggesting the trophy be handed over to her already. Co-star Jerry Harris congratulated Aldama. She was overwhelmed by the responses and thanked everyone for their support.
Each Season of "DWTS" has viewers on the edge of their seats. Running for over two decades, the show continues to pull in fans, offering an entertaining and rollercoaster filled hour.
Celebrities come from a myriad of professions, like acting, singing, rapping, and sports. The dance competition has gained popularity over its course.
SHAKING THINGS UP
"DWTS" will have a new host and executive producer, American television personality, Tyra Banks. Two new first-time professional dancers have also been added to the line-up, Britt Stewart and Daniella Karagach.
The dancers will be joining all of the favorite professionals on the show, like Keo Motsepe. Season 29 of "DWTS" will premiere Monday, September 14 on ABC.
WHO IS MONICA ALDAMA?
Aldama stars in Netflix's docuseries, "Cheer" as the cheerleading coach of Navarro College located in Corsicana, Texas. The six-part series debuted this year in January revealing a side to the sport many aren't familiar with. She said:
"I'm hoping that I can use the strategy that we use for mentally and physically preparing."
Aldama has served as the team's head coach for over two decades, leading the squad to 14 National Championships. And she hopes to channel that drive to win the coveted "DWTS" mirrorball trophy.
BORN TO WIN
Aldama has shared that the dance competition is one she was born to win. She indicated that she isn't much of a dancer but has learned that it is a whole different ball game.
The celebrity cast has also shared similar sentiments - it really is anyone's game! Judging from the responses thus far, the show does promise to be one-of-a-kind.
Former NFL player Vernon Davis said in the announcement promo, that despite having the Superbowl ring, he needs the mirror ball trophy!
Nelly stated that he loves competition and thinks this is a competition that will set him apart from others. He added that he has two left and possibly two right ankles, however, he is trying to see where it will all lead.
