Us Weekly: Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom's Wedding Is Not Happening in 2020

It was expected that Katy Perry and her fiancé Orlando Bloom would be walking down the aisle this year but according to a source, that has since changed as they have bigger priorities.

Actor Orlando Bloom, 43, and pop star Katy Perry, 35, initially got engaged last February when “The Lord of the Rings” star proposed on Valentine’s Day. Their planned wedding date was set for December 2019 but things didn’t go according to plan.

A source, that spoke to “Us Weekly,” revealed at the time that the couple had to change the date “due to the location they want.” They then rescheduled for 2020 but had to postpone it again due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus disease.

THE PREGNANCY & BIRTH

In March 2020, the “Smile” vocalist announced that she was expecting their child together. She gave birth to their daughter, Daisy, in August of the same year.

Besides his daughter, Bloom is also a father to a son named Flynn, 9, which he shares with his ex-wife, Miranda Kerr. Now Perry and Bloom have allegedly decided to hold off on their wedding again.

WEDDING POSTPONED

According to another source, “Katy and Orlando’s wedding will not be taking place in 2020.” The insider revealed to “Us Weekly” that Daisy has now become their only focus.

The famous couple is said to have put their wedding plans on hold again. Their nuptials are still going to go ahead but it isn’t their priority at the moment.

THEIR PLANNED WEDDING

A source, that was interviewed by “People” magazine, revealed in March 2020 that the "American Idol" judge had planned on getting married in Japan in early summer. The wedding was set to have at least 150 guests.

The insider shared, at the time, shared how excited the singer was about getting married and her pregnancy. The informant, who was allegedly close to the couple, also revealed that the duo was thrilled that their wedding planning was coming together before COVID-19 hit and halted things.

BLOOM’S PROPOSAL

Bloom made sure his proposal last year was as romantic as possible. The couple first had dinner at an Italian restaurant on Valentine’s Day where he ordered all their meals.

THEIR HELICOPTER RIDE

The actor was well dressed, according to Perry, and took them on a helicopter ride after eating. The helicopter landed on a building before they went downstairs where the singer’s family and my friends were waiting.

PROPOSAL VENUE & ENGAGEMENT RING

The area was decorated with lots of flowers and that’s how Bloom proposed. Perry’s engagement ring comprises of a pink stone surrounded by eight diamonds that form a flower.
