Here's How Orlando Bloom Announced the Birth of His and Katy Perry's Daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom

Orlando Bloom and his fiancée have finally welcomed their first child together! In a social media post, the actor shared a sneak peek of his daughter while revealing her name.

The “United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF)” took to social media to announce the birth of their Goodwill Ambassadors, Orlando Bloom, 43, and Katy Perry’s first child. The post included a personal message from the famous couple.

Taking to his Instagram account, Bloom reposted the same message including a photo of his daughter’s arm. In the image, a woman’s hand, possibly Perry’s, was seen holding the tiny girl.

BLOOM & PERRY’S DAUGHTER

Bloom’s post revealed that the newborn’s name was Daisy Dove Bloom. Their new parents confessed to UNICEF:

“We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter.”

In their statement, they revealed to the organization that they were lucky to have a peaceful birth under the circumstances. Bloom and Perry, 35, noted how newborns and pregnant women would die every 11 seconds due to a shortage of healthcare workers.

NEWBORNS AT RISK

The couple revealed how the novel coronavirus outbreak had left newborn babies at risk. The risk was caused by a lack of access to soap, water, medicine, and vaccines.

The couple got engaged at the beginning of the year but had to postpone their wedding.

The actor and the singer shared how they empathized with those affected. They praised UNICEF for being there for those who are badly affected.⠀

WHAT UNICEF DOES

The organization made sure expecting mothers have access to trained healthcare workers and quality healthcare. Perry and Bloom celebrated their child’s birth by creating a donation page for the organization.

The couple concluded their post writing: “We hope your [black heart emoji] can bloom with generosity.” The play on words was hilariously evident with the use of the actor’s last name in the conclusion.

ANNOUNCING PREGNANCY

The “American Idol” judge and the “Lord of the Rings” actor announced they were expecting on March 5, 2020. Perry made the revelation in the music video for her track, "Never Worn White."

She appeared in the video showing off her baby bump. The pop singer then confirmed her pregnancy by hosting an Instagram Livestream where she shared that she was due in the summer.

KATY’S PREGNANCY CRAVINGS

She confessed during the segment that she had cravings like most pregnant women. However, she explained she was unable to fulfill them all the time due to the virus outbreak.

GETTING ENGAGED

Bloom and Perry got engaged last year on Valentine's Day and were suppose to have a wedding in Japan. The couple had to postpone their nuptials due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Besides his daughter, the actor is also a father to a son, Flynn, 9. Bloom had the boy when he was still married to supermodel Miranda Kerr.
