Truth behind Christina Anstead & Ex Tarek El Moussa's Friendly Co-parenting

Christina Anstead and Tarek El Moussa have not let their divorce get in the way of becoming good parents to their two children — Taylor and Brayden.

A source recently told US Weekly that Christina Anstead and Tarek El Moussa have gotten to a great, peaceful, and friendly place in terms of co-parenting and working together. The former couple petitioned for legal separation in 2017, and their divorce was finalized a year later.

While co-parenting their two children, the amicable exes also work as co-hosts of the hit television series "Flip or Flop" airing on HGTV. Christina also has her own HGTV show titled "Christina on the Coast."

Following the pair's split, Tarek moved on with Heather Rae Young, while his ex tied the knot with Ant Anstead and welcomed a son named Hudson. In a recent interview with US Weekly, Tarek opened up about Christina and their children, saying:

"The kids are great and life is good. We're cordial. We film together. … We're good."

The former partners worked very hard to get to this point. Tarek added: "Once you acknowledge that, it's not fair and you can't control it, I feel like it helps you start to move on."

In April, Christina disclosed to US Weekly that she and Tarek were taking care of their children the same as before in the midst of the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic.

However, Christina, who recently announced her separation from her second husband, admitted that homeschooling Taylor and Brayden has been challenging.

Christina and Ant's breakup came less than two months after Tarek proposed to his girlfriend.

Meanwhile, after news of her breakup from Ant broke earlier this month, an insider revealed to US Weekly that Tarek is unhappy his ex-wife is experiencing a tough time.

On September 18, Christina uploaded a photo of her and Ant walking into the sunset. In the caption, the television personality revealed that she and Ant had made the difficult decision to separate.

The pair, who tied the knot in December 2018, are thankful for one another and emphasized that their son, Hudson, will remain their top priority.

Christina and Ant's breakup came less than two months after Tarek proposed to his girlfriend of one year, Heather, in July. The couple is currently working on the first home they have purchased together in Newport Beach, California.

Tarek and Heather dated for one year before the former proposed during a boat trip to Catalina Island. Through his Instagram Stories, the twosome revealed that they purchased their first place as a couple.

A representative for the couple told PEOPLE that he originally bought the house as a flip, but then the pair decided to make it their new home.
