Dominic Purcell made fans of the hit TV show "Prison Break" rejoice as he announced that the series would be returning for a sixth season on social media.
Dominic Purcell, who became a fan-favorite with his role as the solemn Lincoln Burrows on the FOX's series "Prison Break" has disclosed that the show would return for a sixth season.
The Australian actor ambiguously shared the exciting news by uploading a selfie on Instagram while addressing various rumors in the accompanying caption.

The photo showed the 50-year-old in a black ensemble that exposed his neck, and the shot seemed to have been taken in a bedroom, judging by the closest in the background.
Purcell suffered a severe injury on the fifth season set in Morocco when a large steel bar collapsed on him and broke his nose.
As mentioned earlier, the "DC's Legends Of Tomorrow" actor's caption addressed some rumors, and the third one was the mouth-watering one that read:
"Rumor number 3, Will season pb 6 happen. Yes..."
Purcell's statement received different reactions from fans, who were enthusiastic about the news or suspicious that the actor was joking.
According to sources, Charlie Collier, CEO of Fox Entertainment, confirmed in August 2019 that the fan-favorite series would not receive a sixth season, but he believed that when the creators of the show had a story worth telling, Fox would be ready to listen.
The "Prison Break" series followed the story of two brothers, Lincoln Burrows [played by Purcell] and Michael Scofield [played by Wentworth Miller], as they conspired to flee from prison after Burrows was sentenced to death for a crime he wasn't guilty of.
In April, the "Gridlocked" star had mentioned the possibility of a sixth season with a video he uploaded on Instagram. The video was a clip from "Prison Break", and Purcell captioned the post with a lengthy message where he indicated that he would make no comments about the show until it was necessary.
The successful Fox series, which commenced 15 years ago originally had four seasons and the franchise was supposed to end in 2009 with the movie "The Final Break" but the show earned a fifth season in 2017.

The father-of-four appreciates his time on camera just as he does off the set. The "Killer Elite" actor was recently spotted cozying up with his girlfriend, AnnaLynne McCord at the Huntington Beach.
The couple has been in an on and off relationship since they first met on the movie "Officer Down" in 2011. They were confirmed to be separated in January 2018, but the pair seemed to have revived their romance as they publicly displayed their affection for each other on the beach.
