Private and doting mother Halle Berry surprised fans as she shared a rare photo of her son Maceo to commemorate his 7th birthday. The sweet image showed him enjoying alone time in a garden.

Halle Berry is a proud mother-of-two and never fails to proudly celebrate her children during special milestones. However, the star actress doesn’t deter from her usual tradition of keeping them private.

Yesterday, the “Catwoman” star took to Instagram to commemorate her son’s 7th birthday with a heartwarming tribute. Berry shared a touching photo of little Maceo having a swell time in a garden with his face hidden behind a leaf.

The young boy, who was wearing a pink t-shirt, was seen plucking a plant with a smile on his face. Berry doted on her son in the accompanying caption that read, “A garden day with the birthday boy.”

Berry chose to include Maceo in her routine to keep him engaged and active to conquer the chaos of virtual learning.

Although the actress, who is also mother to 12-year-old Nahla, is no stranger to keeping fans updated with frequent uploads on social media, she ensures that her kids are off-limits most of the time. During an interview with the “Today Show” in 2019, the 54-year-old opened up about her decision to not show their faces, saying:

“I’ve fought really hard to protect their privacy, and I just want them to have their life and have it be theirs.”

The “X-Men” star explained that she didn’t want to compromise on their safety and show them off on the internet at such a young age. However, she noted that they would decide if they wanted to be out there when they are old enough.

Nevertheless, that doesn’t stop the actress from sharing sweet moments with her bundles of joy at any chance she gets. Such was the case in September when she entertained fans with a cute workout video of her using Maceo as weight as she did some squats.

The “John Wick: Chapter 3 -Parabellum” star explained in the caption that she chose to include Maceo in her routine to keep him engaged and active to conquer the chaos of virtual learning, which most parents have had to adopt because of the pandemic.

While Berry doesn’t mind keeping her fans in tune with life happenings that involve her kids, she won’t hesitate to go full mother-hen on them when they come at her with negative energy.

In March, the actress uploaded a hilarious clip of her son wearing a pair of her heels and walking the stairs. However, what was supposed to entertain fans soon turned to a case of online trolling, which Berry didn’t take lightly.

She clapped back at a fan who insinuated that Maceo had changed his gender. The doting mother reiterated that Maceo was a boy and was simply having fun, before urging the user to be less uptight and laugh some more.
