See 'American Idol' Alum Casey Goode's Update on Her Newborn Son's Battle with COVID-19

Casey Goode gives an update on the health status of her two weeks old son Max who was diagnosed with the novel coronavirus a few days after he was born.

The novel coronavirus took the world by storm, and while everyone is still trying to grasp the hang of this new reality, some are fighting to beat the virus. One such person is Casey Goode's two weeks old son Max.

Max was diagnosed with the novel coronavirus a few days after he was born on September 18th, 2020. The infant had come down with a fever, and the test confirmed that he was down with the virus.

Taking to Instagram, Casey gave an update on the health progress of Max and how he was fairing. She shared a picture of herself with a nose mask while she explained that Max was going to be discharged.

Following that, she shared another image that showed little Max sleeping soundly while swaddled in a white and orange scarf. The doting mom who explained to her followers that:

"His fever hasn't come back since Saturday, his oxygen level are good, and he is eating and pooping and sleeping. All Goode things."

Casey also gave an update on her own health status and told her followers that she was not showing symptoms and had been wearing a nose mask since Saturday. She added that she could not imagine what it would have been like if she was also sick.

Although she did not show any symptoms, Casey stated that she had to do the Covid Swab test and although she and Max were ready to leave the hospital, she has to wait to get the result of the test.

According to Alex, the moment was a mentally and spiritually draining one for Casey and himself.

In her last Insta Story frame, Casey shared a picture of baby Max sleeping and smiling with one hand raised to the direction of the camera. Wearing a blue knitted onesie, Max looked adorable, and Casey said:

Casey and her husband Alex had initially shared that Max was diagnosed with the virus, and he was admitted at the PICU while Casey had to be put under observation. It was confirmed that Max had gotten the virus from a medical professional who had handled him at birth.

According to Alex, the moment was a mentally and spiritually draining one for Casey and himself as they were scared of what the outcome could be and the prayers of those around them kept them going through the difficult time.

When the news hit, friends and colleagues of the couple reached out to them, sending them all the love and support they needed by encouraging them with words and words of prayer.

With the challenging times behind them now that Max is out of the hospital, it is more evident that the Goodes can return to their lives while showering their son with all the love he deserves.
