The first win for the team over the Boston Celtics was in 2010 and it was led by Kobe and Pau Gasol. The Los Angeles Lakers actually dedicated their season to Vanessa’s late husband.
The team paid tribute to the late legendary player by wearing “Black Mamba” uniforms on Friday during Game 5. The basketball team actually started honoring Kobe in July when the playoffs began.
BLACK MAMBA UNIFORMS
The Los Angeles Lakers brought back their "Black Mamba" uniforms for the first time since the 2017 to 2018 season. Another added factor to their uniforms was the number 2 patch.
The patch was meant to memorize Kobe’s daughter, Gianna, who wore the number while playing at the Mamba Sports Academy. The late star was actually the one who designed the uniforms.
