Following the continued speculations and rumors concerning actor Hugh Jackman's sexuality, his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, addresses the stories and shares her thoughts.
Actor Hugh Jackman's wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, recently opened up about the numerous rumors about her husband's sexuality. During her appearance on Anh's Brush with Fame, the 64-year-old actress said to the show's host:
"[Hugh's] been gay for so many years, I was gay too when I did [the 1988 film] Shame. They were shocked when I got married."

The actress noted how mean-spirited the magazine and rumor-peddlers were for continuously sharing false things about her husband. She added that she hoped that people realized it was all made up.
When she was asked if she and her husband ever got annoyed by the speculations, Furness said that the rumors were just wrong. She likened the situation to someone referring to Elton John as "straight" and imagined how angry he would have been to hear that.
Furness previously revealed that she and Jackman did not pay the whispers any mind. She described it as a tragic thing to see how the rumor peddlers had nothing better to do than gossip endlessly about people they did not know.
Due to the nature of their jobs, the actor admitted that they had never spent that much time together.
Jackman's sexuality has been under speculation for most of his career. The actor met his wife in 1995 on the set of the Australian TV show, "Correlli." At the time, Jackman was just starting out, and Furness was already established in the industry.
Actor Jackman narrated the magical first time they met and how he fell for her despite their 13-year age difference, in an interview with People's Jess Cagle. He said:
"Deb, she was a big star. I get picked up, and Deb is in the front seat of the car. I'll never forget. She took off her seatbelt, and she turned around."
According to the actor, Furness introduced herself first, and the actor recalled how he immediately knew he liked his wife. At first, Jackman tried to ignore the blooming crush he had on her.
It took six weeks for Jackman to gather his courage, and then, he finally asked Furness out. In 1996, after being together for a while, they decided to tie the knot.
The actor joked that despite the huge age difference between him and Furness, he seemed to be the adult in the relationship while she was just like a little kid. Jackman and his wife were adorably close, and being in quarantine together brought them closer than they had ever been.
Due to the nature of their jobs, the actor admitted that they had never spent that much time together. The lovebirds are deeply in love and never hesitate to show their support for one another.
