John Cena, 43, got married again this time to his girlfriend that he’s been dating for more than a year, Shay Shariatzadeh, 31. The pair exchanged vows on Monday, October 12, 2020, in a secret ceremony.

The couple’s marriage came as a shock as they had never officially announced their engagement. Here’s a look at where the pair started before they walked down the aisle together as husband and wife.

The “Blockers” actor and the Canadian native were first rumored to be dating last March. At the time, Cena and Shariatzadeh were seen together during an intimate date night in Vancouver, Canada.

In April 2019, Cena and Shariatzadeh were seen showing off some heated public displays of affection. At the time, the actor was dropping the Canadian engineer off at the San Diego Airport.

Three months later, the pair was spotted while having a date to a WWE Raw taping for Cena. Later that month, the couple was seen again at a restaurant in Tampa, Florida, where they kissed.

ENGAGEMENT RUMORS

In February 2020, the couple sparked rumors that they might be engaged. Shariatzadeh was spotted wearing a ring on her left hand on the wedding ring finger during a trip to an amusement park in San Diego.

Hours after the rumor began, Cena tweeted this cryptic message: “'A happy marriage is a long conversation that always seems too short’ – Andre Maurois.” Now this month, the pair got married in Florida.

FILING FOR A MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE

According to “Daily Mail,” Shariatzadeh and Cena filed for a marriage certificate earlier this month. Before marrying his current wife, the “F9” actor was previously married to Elizabeth Huberdeau.

They stayed together from July 2009 until they separated in May 2012. Their divorce was finalized on July 18, 2012, and he started dating Bella later that same year and asked her to marry him.

PROPOSING TO NIKKI BELLA

Cena proposed to Bella at WrestleMania 33 in April 2017. The following year in April they called off their engagement less than a month before they were set to get married in May 2018.

When Cena met Shariatzadeh she was a product manager at Avigilon, a Motorola Solutions Company in Vancouver, Canada. She eventually got herself a tech job where she could work remotely and allow her relationship to flourish.

Last November, Cena appeared on the “Today” show where he confirmed his relationship with his current wife. He told the audience and host, at the time, that he was “extremely happy” with where he was.

The star also shared one thing he’d learned from his previous relationships. He revealed that he’d learned that it was okay for him to be who he was and to establish some boundaries in relationships.
