Carrie Fisher Would've Been 64 — Billie Lourd, Mark Hamill & 'Star Wars' Fans Honor the Legend

On Wednesday, October 21, 2020, the late actress Carrie Fisher would’ve turned 64. On the day of the legendary star’s birthday, her fans, family, and other celebrities took to social media to pay tribute to her.

The late “Star Wars” actress Carrie Fisher would’ve celebrated her 64th birthday this week if she hadn’t passed away. The star died on December 27, 2016, at the age of 60 after suffering from a heart attack.

Confirming her death at the time, her spokesman Simon Halls informed “E! News” that the actress’s daughter, Billie Lourd, now-28, was the one who announced and confirmed the sad news.

On the day that would’ve been her birthday, Lourd, other “Star Wars” actors, friends, family, and fans took to social media to pay tribute to her. Fisher’s daughter shared a throwback photo of her mother and captioned the post with various emojis (more about that below).

In 2017, Lourd commemorated what would’ve been her mother‘s 61st birthday. At the time, the late actress’s daughter uploaded a beautiful throwback photograph that featured her and her mother when they were both much younger.

In the image, the mother-and-daughter duo was photographed while wearing matching nightgowns. “The American Horror Story” star mimicked her mother’s style of writing in emoji lettering again and wished her a happy birthday.

For her birthday this year, Mark Hamill, a fellow “Star Wars” actor, honored his late co-star by sharing a throwback photo. In the image from their 1977 film “Star Wars: A New Hope,” the pair were photographed as they were about to kiss each other on the lips.

In the movie, Hamill and Fisher played the role of the couple Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia. The actor captioned the tweet with a sweet message for the late star writing:

"Happy Birthday Carrie Frances Fisher. The world will never stop missing you….."

The official “Star Wars” Twitter account shared a stunning throwback image of Fisher and Leia in tribute. In the caption of the post, they revealed that they were remembering their “courageous princess” on her birthday.

As if her death wasn’t enough of a shock for Lourd, the young actress suffered another tragedy soon afterward.

Fans also took some time to wish Fisher a happy birthday, with one person lamenting how the star had gone away too soon. Another fan tweeted a GIF of the actress wishing that the force would be with us and also wished her a happy birthday.

A third fan shared a black-and-white throwback image of the late star and reiterated everyone else’s birthday wishes. This fan also noted how Fisher was the only woman she had ever called “princess.”

On December 23, 2016, the star was flying from London to Los Angeles when she suddenly went into cardiac arrest. She was removed from the flight by paramedics and taken to a nearby hospital.

When Fisher arrived at the hospital she was treated for a heart attack but she sadly died later on. Her parents were the well-known and famous entertainers Eddie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds.

As if her death wasn’t enough of a shock for Lourd, the young actress suffered another tragedy soon afterward. The following day, the actress lost her grandmother after she suffered a severe stroke.
