Watch Sweet Video Dwayne Johnson Shared as He Celebrated His Mother's 72nd Birthday
The “Rampage” star is a devoted and loving son that has his mother as one of his biggest examples, and he marked her most recent birthday with a touching post on Instagram.
48-year-old actor and former professional wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s mother Ata Johnson just turned 72, and Dwayne didn’t let it go unnoticed, taking to his Instagram account to mark the occasion.
On October 26, 2020, Dwayne posted a touching video on the social network on which he captured the moment he and his two daughters sing “happy birthday” to Ata, before he gives his mother a loving kiss on her forehead.

The video was captured at the family’s kitchen, which was decorated for the occasion with colorful paper ornaments. To make things more festive, there were several party hats on top of the table, with Ata already wearing a red one.
As Dwayne pointed out on the post’s long caption, it was his wife Lauren Hashian who used her beautiful voice to make the birthday song sound more harmoniously, and he said his favorite moment was his daughter blowing the candles.
Ata divorced Rocky in 2003, following a marriage of more than 30 years, and Rocky passed away early in 2020, but her superstar son has never forgotten about her and her needs.
“We go down this unpredictable road of life and we never know what’s around the corner - so we do our best to treat every day for what it is - a true blessing,” Dwayne wrote in the caption, considering his mother as the living example of that philosophy.
Dwayne added that his mother was always living life to the fullest, and he celebrated his qualities to share them with the world before wishing her a happy birthday and reminding her how much she is loved.
The clip certainly hit a chord on Wayne’s many fans and followers, and less than 24 hours after its publication, it had already been reproduced more than 12 million times, apart from receiving more than 2 million likes.
A WRESTLING FAMILY
Dwayne comes from a family that has been associated with professional wrestling for a long time, with both his parents having some relationship with the sport that also made their son famous.
In fact, Ata, who grew up in Hawaii as an adopted daughter of the celebrated Samoan-American wrestler Peter Maivia, met Dwayne’s late father, star wrestler Rocky Johnson, at a wrestling match.
Dwayne was born in 1972, two years after Rocky and Ata married in spite of the disapproval of Ata’s father, who didn’t want to see her marrying a wrestler that was considered an opponent.
A MOTHER’S BOY
Dwayne has always remained very close to his mother, and he has never ceased looking after her and her well-being, something that she more than deserves after a life of devoting herself to her family.
Ata divorced Rocky in 2003, following a marriage of more than 30 years, and Rocky passed away early in 2020, but her superstar son has never forgotten about her and her needs.
Apart from always celebrating her birthday and her example, sharing it on social media, Dwayne bought his mother a home for herself in 2018 for Christmas, having previously bought a home for his parents in 1999, when the two were already married.
