Emily Ratajkowski Announces Pregnancy in Candid Vogue Essay on Motherhood & Outlook on Gender
Model and Inamorata founder Emily Ratajkowski announced her pregnancy in a candid Vogue essay, sharing her first time experience and views on motherhood.
Model Emily Ratajkowski is full of surprises as a recent essay she penned for Vogue hit two birds with one stone. While sharing her views on motherhood, Ratajkowski revealed that she expects her first child with her husband, the actor and director Sebastian Bear-McClard.
The Los Angeles-based couple first surprised when they married a few weeks after they started dating. Ratajkowski and McClard made their couple status known when they appeared together on Valentine's Day in 2018.

WHY SHE DOESN'T WANT TO FOCUS ON GENDER
Being pregnant for the first time changed Ratajkowski's previous perception of the experience, while being in self-isolation due to the novel coronavirus definitely helped. What her body feels like and how it changes and thoughts about the kind of person their child could grow up to become occupies her mind.
"What kind of person will we become parents to? How will they change our lives and who we are? This is a wondrous and terrifying concept, one that renders us both helpless and humbled," the model wrote.
THE KIND OF MOTHER SHE WANTS TO BE
Ratajkowski wants to avoid gender stereotyping where possible, but the upside to knowing their baby's gender doesn't pass her by. She knows it will give them a glimpse into "who" their baby could be, but it's the bigger questions around motherhood that she now finds herself wondering about.
"It feels much more daunting to create an understanding of privilege in a child than to teach simple black-and-white morality," Ratajkowski explained. "How do I raise a child who learns to like themself while also teaching them about their position of power in the world?"
HER GUT FEELING ABOUT THE GENDER
Even though the model joked that she would prefer their child to tell them their gender at the age of 18, she did share her gut feeling on whether the baby is a girl or a boy. A feeling she shares with her best friend.
According to their "shared instinct," Rajajkowski and her husband are expecting a boy, a dark-haired boy, to be more precise, but the model didn't confirm either way.
ANOTHER PREGNANCY SURPRISE
"American Horror" actress Emma Roberts wanted to keep her pregnancy private and low-key, but it didn't quite turn out that way thanks to her mother. Not the most adept with current technology, the future grandmother could barely contain her excitement on social media after being catfished.
However, with the cat out of the bag, Roberts share beautiful updates on her pregnancy from time to time, including precious snaps taken at her intimate baby shower.
