Julianne Hough Officially Files for Divorce from Brooks Laich after 3 Years of Marriage
Actress and dancer Julianne Hough, best known as a former competitor and judge of “Dancing with the Stars,” filed for divorce from her husband of three years, Brooks Laich.
Hough and Laich, a former NHL player, met for the first time in late-2013 when her “Curve” co-star Teddy Sears introduced them.
The actress confessed that their meeting couldn’t have happened at a better time as she had just finished a seminar about creating one’s destiny that taught her a lot about why her relationships didn’t work.

JULIANNE HOUGH AND BROOKS LAICH’S RELATIONSHIP
Following the seminar, she ended things with a few people she had been casually dating, and that’s when she met Laich. The dancer pointed out that she and Laich knew they had something special from the very beginning.
In February 2014, Laich confirmed their relationship during a radio interview, describing Hough as a “cool,” “very loving, very giving” woman and adding that he was a “lucky guy.”
On August 18, 2015, the couple announced their engagement on social media. Hough admitted to feeling happy and blessed and that her favorite thing about being engaged was the sense of warmth and joy.
Julianne Hough and Brooks Laich tied the knot in July 2017 in an outdoor wedding held on Lake Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Then, in September 2019, the actress revealed that she was “not straight.”
Hough realized that she is happier having her own freedom.
The dancer pointed out that she once told Laich about it, assuring him that she still chose to be with him although she was not straight. On New Year’s Eve 2019, Laich and Hough made headlines after she was spotted without her wedding ring.
Reports about them having “problems for months” started circulating all over the internet. Then, in March 2020, the couple revealed that they were socially distancing apart as Hough was in Los Angeles and Laich was in Idaho.
JULIANNE HOUGH FILED FOR DIVORCE
It wasn’t until May 29 that the couple confirmed their separation in a joint statement, revealing that they loved and respected one another but still were parting ways. However, in September, it was reported that they were still fighting for their marriage.
Sadly, The Blast revealed that Hough filed for divorce in the Los Angeles County Courts on November 2, meaning that she and Laich are one step closer to ending things for good.
Hough and Laich’s divorce is expected to be over fast and without scandals as they don’t share kids.
According to People, they were indeed trying to work things out, but Hough realized that she is happier having her own freedom. Laich, who supposedly wanted to give her some of that freedom, hit his limit, too.
